Marie is a New York-based actor performing in theater, television & film, voice-over, commercial and print. Born with a Filipino mother and a half British, half Chinese father, she was brought up tri-lingually in Cebu, Philippines before moving to New York City in 2014 for two-year full time conservatory training in both classical and contemporary roles at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts - home to an extensive history and prestigious alumni such as Anne Hathaway, Paul Rudd, Grace Kelly, Robert Redford, Kim Catrall & Danny Devito among others.

Prior to life in the US, Marie held a long-standing television host and emcee career in the Philippines gracing screens on acclaimed cable shows such as “Around Town”, “Scene Around Town” and “Life At The Park” on two channels: RCTV Ch. 36 and MyTV Cebu with local Filipino personalities like herself before making her mark in New York City as a professional actress. Her participation in the reality show RCTV Screentest: VJ Hunt 2010, where she was one of the three winners offered a spot as a VJ on Cebu’s #1 Billboard Show “Around Town”, kicked off her TV hosting career at the young age of 18.

 

 Marie is a native speaker of three different languages (English, Tagalog and Cebuano). She also has Limited Working Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (lessons in academic setting for 4 years) tailored for learning sides/scripts when needed. She is also fully proficient in American Sign Language (Fingerspelling only) and Backslang (an English coded language in which the written word is spoken phonemically backwards). Marie also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Linguistics and Literature. While recent projects since the year (2022) began have propelled her to comedic roles, she is equally and exceptionally at home in emotionally demanding roles requiring intensity and vulnerability as well as light-hearted roles requiring an instinctive comedic timing. When she is not on stage or in front of a camera, Marie is an avid licensed SCUBA diver, pianist (classical training beginning at age 8), home cook and dog mom to Teddy.
